This is the archive of the goodrelations dicussion list

GoodRelations is a standardized vocabulary for product, price, and company data that can (1) be embedded into existing static and dynamic Web pages and that (2) can be processed by other computers. This increases the visibility of your products and services in the latest generation of search engines, recommender systems, and other novel applications.

[goodrelations] GoodRelations V1 Service Update 2008-11-27 now online

Dear all:

We have just put the service update 2008-11-27 for the GoodRelations
ontology (http://purl.org/goodrelations) online.

This will incorporate several improvements based on very valuable
feedback from many members of the GoodRelations community.

==========================================
Please update all local copies and caches.
==========================================

All but three changes are proper extensions of the current version. All
changes are documented at [1]. The general change log documenting all
past and future changes is at [2].

At this point, we have also switched from client-side rendering to
content negotiation. Our server will now return HTML/XHTML when you enter

http://purl.org/goodrelations/v1

into your browser, and the OWL ontology specification if your
application requests RDF/XML.

Should you ever need to retrieve the OWL ontology specification without
content negotiation, you can download it from

http://purl.org/goodrelations/v1.owl

However, that URI should be used only when
http://purl.org/goodrelations/v1 does not work for you.

This change also removes the harmless but annoying Jena warnings that
some of you might have experienced. Basically Jena tried to tell you
that it found a link to the stylesheet in the RDF/XML code but did not
process the stylesheet, which was completely correct.

Best wishes

Martin Hepp
